Registration
When you arrive at LNU - MSU, please do the following to be properly registered for classes:
-
Visit Michelle Wang in the financial office(room 104-1) to pay for your registration fee - keep track of this receipt!

Meet with Wendy Tan in room 107 to fill out an application for MSU – West Plains.

Meet with Matthew Moskal(room 410) next to get a BearPass ID number and live.missouristate.edu email address from MSU – West Plains. This does take a few days because it must come from the MSU – West Plains. Please keep track of this ID number!

Meet with International Student Coordinator Brandon Flint to find which cohort section you will be placed in. If you are a non-traditional student (i.e. a transfer from another University or must take classes around your work schedule, please make an appointment with Lori Gong).
(Note: You can go to the financial office and pay the book fee while waiting for your ID number so you can have books for your classes. You should also decide which classes you will take and start attending them as soon as possible. You must register for classes once you get your BearPass ID number)

Once you have your BearPass ID, register for classes with Wendy, Tan. Please refer to the curriculum page of which first and second year classes you will need to take. The International Student Coordinator can also help you

See Michelle Wang in the financial office to pay your tuition and fees. She will direct you to LNU Financial Building (next to the soccer field), to pay tuition
Responsibilities

You must use your
live.missouristate.edu email account for all class related activities. The
International Student Coordinator will send you regular information about important dates and information to this email address
Advising Office
The Advising office's primary responsibility is to help students graduate. Some of the key activities are:

Planning course schedules with students, when necessary

Helping to find the right person to help when transcript corrections are necessary

Explaining the rules of graduation (AA and BS degrees), for example:

Which classes are needed for your AA degree

How the AA degree replaces general education requirements for the BS degree

Which College of Business Administration (COBA) courses are required and which are electives

Why the GPA is so important and what different GPAs mean

Explaining the rules for admission to the College of Business Administration (COBA) in the third year
-
Communicating with Missouri State University West Plains and Springfield administrators on behalf of you to solve advising-related issues
Housing and Meals
Most international students live in private apartments close to campus. These apartments are furnished, clean, and reasonably priced at 1500 – 2000 RMB/month.

You may also live in the foreign student dormitory owned by Liaoning Normal University; a shared dorm room is 1200 RMB/month. Inexpensive meals are available at campus cafeterias. A wide variety of restaurants, grocery stores, apartments and shops surround the campus. Helen Li can provide assistance to you if you need to look for apartments

Registration Fee – ¥1,000 (One-time fee)

Visa and Police registration
Visa (Note: some visa regulations may have changed. Please contact Michael Wang(Room 104-2) He will help you with :
JW202 form and visa issues,Emergencies and health issues, Activity arrangements

If you do request a student visa to come, you will need a JW202 form which is the Chinese equivalent of the I-20 from universities in the United States. Please contact
Michael Wang(Room 104-2) for more information. Usually need to apply for it at least 2 months in advance.

You must eventually have a JW202 student residence permit. You must also be careful not to overstay your time in China. Contact
Michael Wang(Room 104-2)at the first time to make sure your visa is up-to-date. You need to change your current visa (student or tourist) to student residence permit at least 10 days before your visa expires.

Non – Chinese nationals must go with your landlord to register with the local police within as soon as possible after your arrival. Your landlord should take you to the police station to provide your passport and address information. If you have problem, you can contact
Selina Song to get help.

Every time you change apartments, your visa status, have a new passport or every time after you come back to China, you must go to the local police station and update your information. Be sure you extend your student residence permit at least 30 days before it expires.
